Business Card/Pen Holder Project
Spring 2011 |
Our goal this semester is manufacture a business and pen holder combination. The design will include customizable plate which can read things such as your name, major and graduating year. The simplicity of design, as well as the appeal to graduating seniors and former students make this ideal semester project. Production of this item will take place in Thompson Hall, utilizing its HAAS CNC machines. Those interested in participating must contact Marcos Villeda or Wing Lam Chan, as participants must be trained to use the expensive equipment. |

Domino Project

The Dominoe project was led by former SME member and MMET student Luis Larraga. Mulitple processes such as bandsaw cutting, CNC machining, and bead blasting were utilized to transform aluminum stock into custum dominoe sets(which quickly sold out). |

SME Safety Sales

During the second week of each semester, SME will be selling ENTC and IDIS approved safety glasses and welding gloves. As well as MMET t-shirts.
