The Big Event is the largest, one-day, student-run service project in the nation where students of Texas A&M University come together to say "Thank You" to the residents of Bryan and College Station.

SME will be conducting a project in which we will manufacture aluminum business card holders with customizable plates which will read things such as your name graduating class, and major. It will also feature a pen holder attached to the base of the business card holders base. The Offshore Technology Conference is the world's foremost event for the development of offshore resource in the fields of drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection. OTC is held annually at Reliant Center in Houston. Each year, OTC attracts more than 60,000 attendees and 2,000 exhibiting companies representing more than 110 countries. SME Texas A&M Chapter will be attending this conference and will offer rides to those interested in attending. More on this event will be discussed during our third meeting.
HOUSTEX is the year's pure manufacturing event, showcasing leading metalworking machinery and vital enabling technologies. Brought to you by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, Houstex provides you with a complete spectrum of manufacturing technologies. Texas A&M Chapter S099 will be conducting a trip to attend this once a year event. For more information on attending or if you have any questions please email us through our "contact us" tab above.
The MMET-IAC Mentor program was designed with the purpose of facilitating student networking. The mentor program links current students with MMET Industrial Advisory Council Members to help them gain in-depth knowledge of the various career paths available to them. Aggieland Saturday is an annual, campus wide open-house for prospective aggie students. SME will lend a helping hand with this event. We will try leave a lasting impression so that we can could make a prospective student into a Fightin' Texas Aggie. Help will be needed for this event, lunch will also be provided.
SME is planning plant tours of industries in our general geographical area. Our past tours have included shop floors of FMC technologies, Nucor Steel, and MIC. Voting on future tours will be taking place during our general meetings, so make sure to attend.
